Security, defense & space

Geopolitical bloc formation structurally raises defense budgets in Europe and Asia while space goes commercial. Demand runs from the major prime contractors through munitions and naval systems, sensors and radar, drones and autonomous systems to satellites and the dual-use suppliers serving both civilian and military markets. Prime contractors with long-running government contracts are more predictably positioned than suppliers whose order books depend more heavily on individual procurement decisions.

Prime contractors

When governments raise defense budgets, the money flows first to the large prime contractors that build and integrate complete aircraft, ships and missile systems. These contracts often run for decades and are rarely questioned politically, giving prime contractors a rare combination of high volume and high planning certainty.

Munitions, land & naval systems

For decades, ammunition stockpiles worldwide were run down, and current conflicts have visibly emptied those reserves, forcing states to rebuild production capacity at a pace not seen since the Cold War. Makers of munitions, armored vehicles and explosives benefit from multi-year orders that go well beyond the needs of any single conflict, because states now want to permanently hold higher reserves.

Sensors, radar & electronics

A modern weapons system is largely electronics: radar, sensors and electronic warfare today often decide the outcome of an engagement more than raw firepower. Because these components sit inside practically every system, from aircraft to drones, demand for specialized semiconductors and microwave parts grows independent of which specific big program is currently awarding contracts.

Drones & autonomous systems

Small, cheap drones have shown in current conflicts that they can replace or even destroy expensive manned systems in certain roles, a shock that is reshaping procurement programs worldwide. Militaries are now deliberately buying many small, rapidly producible unmanned systems instead of fewer expensive big-ticket items, opening an entirely new, fast-growing procurement segment for drone, counter-drone and autonomy software makers.

Space & satellites

Reusable rockets have cut launch costs by a large multiple, making satellite constellations for communication, navigation and earth observation commercially viable for the first time instead of only government-affordable. That opens a commercial business for launch vehicles, satellite builders and ground stations that was practically reserved for governments alone just a decade ago.

Dual-use suppliers

Titanium, specialty optics and precision components from civilian industry almost always end up in defense and space products too, without the supplying companies themselves being classified as defense firms. These suppliers benefit twice over: from the civilian industrial business and additionally from rising defense budgets, often without the political attention pure defense companies attract.
